‘Proud’ and ‘fantastic news’ are just some of the words from St Elizabeth Care Agency staff after hearing they have retained their ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission.

The news follows a remote inspection, by the health and social care services regulator in January, which saw St Elizabeth Care Agency retain its ‘Outstanding’ rating, achieved during an inspection in 2018.

Published on the Care Quality Commission website, the report described the St Elizabeth Care Agency care workers as ‘remarkably kind, caring and highly compassionate’, while the overall service ‘promoted the highest standards of person-centred care’.

Sam Walters, Care Agency Manager, said: “The whole team is so proud to receive this fantastic news, which is recognition of the hard work our staff put in on a daily basis, delivering the best support to our clients.

“Clients’ care and independence is at the forefront of all our work, so to receive a report which highlights this as being successful is fantastic to hear.”

St Elizabeth Care Agency is an organisation which provides high quality, tailor-made services to clients living in their homes throughout the communities of Ipswich, Felixstowe, Woodbridge and surrounding areas.

Established in June 2013, St Elizabeth Care Agency is a wholly owned subsidiary of independent Suffolk charity, St Elizabeth Hospice, and all profits made by the agency are donated to the hospice to further its work to improve life for people living with a progressive or life-limiting illness.

The report also praised the Care Agency for having ‘an open, inclusive and transparent culture’, with feedback from service users praising staff, including many positive quotes, such as ‘they are all so friendly and they all know exactly what I need them to do without being told.’

The agency supports anyone over the age of 18, including people with learning disabilities or mental health needs. Through providing a wide range of services, such as personal care, support visits and practical domestic help at home, the Care Agency promotes independence by assisting people to maintain the maximum level of choice and control, meaning they can stay living comfortably in their home.
